I spent one week in CDMX and having classes at the school was one of the brightest spots. If you thing of a “school” as something with a bunch of students in a classroom listening to a boring professor pacing back and forth at the blackboard, think again. What you will get is several (your choice of how many) of one-on-one private instructions with the curriculum tailored to your level and your needs! My teacher Quetzal was absolutely brilliant and helped me immensely with my grammar and vocabulary. But the best of all was three hours of practically nonstop conversation at a highly comfortable and non-judgmental setting. Also, you will learn a lot about the country and local customs. I wished I had more time and I definitely highly recoupment the school. And Quetzal, thank you very much again!

I recently completed three weeks of intensive Spanish classes (three hours per day for a total of 45 hours) with Quetzal. Quetzal is an excellent teacher, using many comprehensive and creative teaching methodologies. Though young, Quetzal is a highly professional, serious, and disciplined teacher. She made learning fun and challenging. She employed: music, videos, games, reading and writing assignments, quizzes, lots of conversation, and homework assignments! Our classes focused on grammatical imperatives for an intermediate level, such as the very important subjunctive mood of verb conjugation. She supplied me with many useful handouts which I will continue to review. Additionally and importantly, she introduced me to many interesting facets of the incredibly rich culture and history of Mexico. While I picked an AirBnB location not too far from the school, Quetzal made it totally convenient by meeting with me at my location. I am very grateful to Jorrit for matching me up with the perfect teacher for me! Janet Adrian . .

The Spanish classes I took with Learning Spanish in Mexico City were truly amazing! Ita is an outstanding teacher and a very kind and knowledgeable person. I always felt encouraged in classes and Ita was super patient throughout our classes. My Spanish improved a lot during our time together and I thoroughly enjoyed every class. I would very strongly recommend the Learning Spanish in Mexico City and Ita specifically! I also really appreciated Jorrit’s responsiveness and flexibility in scheduling and purchasing my sessions and answering any questions. Please do not hesitate to choose the Learning Spanish in Mexico City to improve you Spanish!

I cannot speak highly enough of Learn the Language Spanish in Mexico City! I had always wanted to study abroad when I was in college but missed the boat. Now that I am a full time adult digital nomad, I took the opportunity to move to CDMX this last APR-JUL and study Spanish for 3 months. When I was looking for Spanish language centers this was the only one that offered a flexible schedule that still allowed me to work during the day. I rented an Air B N B and my teacher Quetzal came to my studio every day after work and taught me Spanish for 2 hours in one on one lessons. Quetzal was incredibly knowledgable about Spanish grammar, culture and language in general and is so smart. She was very kind and patient with me and catered custom lessons for me every day. We worked on the past, perfect tenses and the subjunctive. It was a dream come true experience. Jorrit, the owner, is really great to work with as well. Their program is very professional and reliable. I thought I had wanted to do group classes as I had never tried private lessons but the private lessons proved to be far more valuable and I got a lot more practice in! I cannot rate them high enough and would do it all over again. Te los recomiendo! -Raquel

I had the pleasure of taking 5 days of 1.5 hour spanish lessons at various cafes around the city with Quetzal. She is an amazing teacher and I found the lessons to be very helpful and engaging. I especially liked that she had different games and activities each day to practice conjugations and sentence structure, etc. The booking process for these classes was very easy and I feel that they are very reasonably priced. Thank you, Quetzal!

I'd recommend this school to anyone looking to improve their Spanish while in CDMX! I took two weeks of daily 3 hour classes at the school with Carlos and made a lot of progress. The classes were really well personalized and adapted to my needs and goals and my level of progression, focused on grammar and oral skills as well as vocabulary. In a short amount of time I managed to progress from a very basic level of Spanish to being able to hold conversations about a range of topics, get around the city with more ease and chatting in Spanish with my in-laws. Carlos is very friendly and professional, giving me useful exercises to progress, and motivating me to speak in Spanish, and he made me progress more in two weeks than I had managed to in 3 years of self study! Jorrit was also very responsive and helpful with finding a schedule that suited my needs and making sure everything was going as desired

I cannot say enough of about my experience with Learn Spanish in Mexico City. Jorrit, who was my main contact, was incredibly helpful. Responses to questions were quick, and when I had a small emergency and had to reschedule my trip, Jorrit was willing to work with me to reschedule. It does help if you have an idea of what you want from your lessons to build your curriculum. For me, I knew I wanted to see the city while also building my foundation for vocabulary and grammar. The price for private lessons are very reasonable when compared to prices for private lessons in the US. I just spent 8 intense days with Quetzal, my instructor, practicing and learning Spanish. We did a mix of formal learning and city tours. Every morning, we'd meet at a cafe and study Spanish vocabulary and grammar, followed by a city tour. Since each city tour was different (and based on your interests), we met at a different place each morning. I am thankful to have had Quetzal as an instructor because she was so patient with me. She taught with intent, and I learned so much! Lessons were varied and kept me on my toes. I loved the games we used to practice Spanish. The City Tours were great because I had to reflect on the experience and communicate that experience with Quetzal. It was really difficult at first, but it got easier as we went on. When I started this review, I thought about writing it in Spanish to demonstrate how much I've learned, but then I realized that for many folks looking to learn Spanish would get much from that - so I hope prospective Spanish learners can share in my excitement for this school. I look forward to traveling to CDMX to take more lessons again.

Very flexible and affordable way to learn Spanish while in Mexico City. My tutor was able to meet me where and when I wanted and was able to adjust the style of the lesson to incorporate the history of the places I was visiting outside of class. She was always professional and gave appropriate corrections. I feel like my Spanish really improved in just a few classes.

Much more than I expected! This school had the perfect teacher for me: Antares. Never before I had a language teacher who was able to explain all the rules and grammar so well as she did. This shows a deep understanding of Spanish, English and the linguistic differences between the two. And to German as well, by the way. Learning with her is fun. She is a super interesting person to chat with, she knows a lot about her beautiful country and she has been traveling the world. And beside all that, Antares is simply a wonderful person. Thank you! I had three great weeks in CDMX. I could have written this feedback in Spanish now. Pero - tal vez tengo que volver el próximo año y aprender más!

Jonathan teached me Spanish for about 5 months and it was a great pleasure having him as my teacher. Since I'm not a great language learner he adjusted the lessons to my likes, whilst keeping on track of the common learning paths. I had very interactive private classes were there was also time to chat about the Mexicans, the habits, culture and history. Even when I knew I had to leave the country I continued classes because of him. ¡Muchas gracias, Jonathan! Saludos cordiales, Ronald.

I've never enjoyed a tutoring session more. Ellie custom designed each class to meet the linguistic needs of my daily life. She was patient and encouraging and an absolute pleasure to spend time with. She challenged me just enough that I was able to make progress is a short time. I highly recommend this service.

If you are trying to decide which school would be the best fit for you, I would highly recommend looking into this company. I recently finished a week long 5 hour a day immersion program with Antares from Learn Spanish in Mexico City and had a terrific time with her. I'm from the U.S. and have been studying Spanish for 3 years at a community college, all of my studying for the most part has been in the classroom weekly with the exception of an online tutor. I have been wanting to do an immersion program for awhile but wasn't exactly sure where to do it and with what school, I had also wanted to travel to Mexico City for some time now so given that I am on winter break from classes at my community college I felt now would be a good time. I got online like most people and reviewed a few schools before finally choosing this one, I had a few questions to ask so I emailed Jorrit and he responded right away which made me feel confident in choosing this school. My Spanish level is intermediate plus, so although I'm not a beginner I still have a lot of things to work on like most of us do. I wanted to target specific areas that I feel I need the most work in and we were able to do exactly that. I also did not really want to spend my time in the city in a classroom mostly as I do that here in the states (nothing wrong with my classroom, it's the highlight of my week but come on!) I'm also in my mid 40-s so I'm no spring chicken but I'm really passionate about learning Spanish and I love adventures. My teacher Antares was an intelligent highly educated young lady in her 20's who is really patient, fun, funny, corrects you right away, knows the city well and is really delightful to be around. So long story short we had class outside the classroom at Cafe's, plazas, museums, all around the city everyday for 5-6 hours and were some of the most fun classes I've ever had/took. I got to experience a lot of the city in a short amount of time while learning/studying a lot the areas I needed most work in. I am planning on going back to Mexico City soon for more studying/immersion and will most definitely use this school again. Also Jorrit the person who runs the company checks in with you daily to make sure everything is going well which is how he runs such a successful business. So if you're on the fence about schools, hopefully this will help you choose which one to use.

I recently spent a week in Mexico City and wanted to improve my Spanish conversational skills. After many back and forth emails with Jorrit (which he answered quickly and with many details) we arranged a 20 hour week with Lucia and it was fantastic! She was always on time and ready to go and was really good about coming up with places for us to walk around and see instead of being stuck inside a classroom all morning. I have tried many different schools in many different countries and so far the service and level of teaching that I received here has been the best.

Super accommodating and convenient. You can arrange with the teachers to meet you wherever best suits you, so I would meet with my tutor Jonathan at a cafe/different cafes near my home. I'm at an intermediate level, and it was great and helpful having someone to consistently practice conversation with while getting corrected and taught about uniquely mexican expressions as well!

I took a 2 months one to one course with 2 perfect tutors who made my learning Spanish beyond easy. I really enjoyed learning Spanish at this school and I absolutely recommend it. The school is very flexible with dates, timetable, class locations, tutors changes ....etc. Both the coordinator and my tutors were very helpful and they always gave me advice and tips. I had classes with Antares and Karen and they were professional and experienced in teaching Spanish. Each tutor had her own methods of teaching that met and fulfilled my expectations. Again,I highly recommend this school and very many thanks to my instructors and the coordinator.

This is a brilliant language school and I reccomed highly. My tutor was absolutely brilliant, I enjoyed my lessons and learned a lot. I've really struggled learning Spanish (I'm not a natural at all!) But my lessons with this school really helped me to make sense of the language. My enquiries to the school were answered promptly, payment was easy. Everything was perfect.

The Spanish lessons were tailored to my exact needs and level of Spanish. My instructor Carlos meet me at my apartment and often times we went out and around the city to learn more about the city and to practice spanish is real world situations. I feel I have improved in the month I took my lessons.

I studied at LSIMC for just over 4 weeks, and I have to give it 5 stars for the service. After joining, I spent a couple of weeks with a teacher, when Jorrit contacted me to see how things were going. I admitted I felt my experience was a bit ordinary and the teacher wasn't using the style I prefer, which Jorrit was extremely attentive to. He cared so much about my experience that he set me up with a different teacher who is MUCH better at the conversational method and helping me put what I was learning into practice (Karen). It's a shame I didn't have her as my teacher from the very start (though I understand the difficulty accommodating schedules etc.) but again, I have to give it 5 stars purely because of how fantastic Karen is and how customer focused and amazing Jorrit is. I highly encourage anyone to enroll with this school purely because of how much Jorrit cares about giving all students a great experience, and if you're not fully satisfied then he will proactively do his best to improve things for you, as he did for me.

From start to finish, my experience with this wonderful organization was exceptional. Jorrit, the administrator, helped me register for just what I needed and was responsive and encouraging throughout the whole process as well as after. My instructor, Jonathan, really customized my learning with materials he prepared just for me. I loved how he used the history and culture of Mexico as a backdrop for our lessons. He was prompt, professional, and ever so patient with the pace of my learning. My classes with him were a highlight of my trip. I loved the experience so much that I plan to go back to Mexico for more classes. Needless to say, I recommend Learn Spanish in Mexico City without reservation and hope you will give them a chance too. They won't disappoint you! - Ryan Kennedy; Denver Colorado USA

When we were planning our trip to Mexico City, I knew that language lessons would benefit everyone in our family (myself, my husband, and 8 and 10 year old daughters), but I wasn't sure how to find an affordable, high-quality, and flexible language school on the infinite (and sometimes undependable) internet. It's hard to know what you'll get for your money, and we didn't want to waste our limited time. Plus, we would be trusting our daughters to total strangers, in a country where we are out of our element, and this was unsettling. When I emailed LSIMC, I was put at ease by (owner) Jorrit's kindness and professionalism. He was flexible and prompt, and set us up with two teachers, Antares (for myself and my husband, 2 hours a day) and Carlos (for our girls, one hour each/day). How did it go? Well, the best review I can give is this: we were in Mexico City for one month, and originally set up language lessons for 2 weeks. Near the middle of the second week, I emailed Jorrit to see if we could extend our lessons until the end of our visit. We did, and it was definitely worth it. Everyone in the family advanced in our language at a far faster pace than we would have without our teachers' patient and quality instruction. Thank you Antares, Carlos and Jorrit! We would definitely recommend your company to any of our friends.

I’m pretty good with English language grammar – I’m a Pulitzer prize winning historian – but miserable in Spanish, apart from dimly remembered lessons from high school, many decades ago, and I’d never gotten beyond the present tense, very distressing for a historian. Your reasonably priced service, which I located on the web, could have been designed for me. The instructor came to our house in Mexico City (my wife and I go back and forth to New York City) and gave me a crash course. Sandra was really terrific, very patient and expert, and we covered a great deal of ground in a short space of time. Thanks to her superlative guidance through the thickets of Spanish grammar I’ve finally been able to grasp the past tense, or the several past tenses! I recommend your service highly.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time taking private lessons with Learn Spanish Mexico City. I had 5 hours a day with my teacher Sandra. for the first 2-3 hours we worked on grammer at the school, then we spent the rest of our time exploring the City. The lessons were very personalized and flexible. The customer service was incredible and the whole process very easy. Would recommend!

Our family of four, including two children ages 6 and 8, took classes for two weeks at Learn Spanish in Mexico City. Before we even arrived, Jorrit, the coordinator, was very attentive and worked hard to match us with teachers who best fit our different learning styles. Having already met their teacher on Skype, the kids in particular felt very comfortable going to class and were excited for the first day. Once we arrived, everyone was very caring, and our Spanish levels improved dramatically. The school was also located in a beautiful area (between Coyoacan and San Angel) with lots of inviting cafes and bookshops, and it was easy to navigate from school to the rest of the city. We would definitely recommend this school to learners of all ages!

I was in Mexico City for a month, and signed up for 10 hours a week of Spanish instruction. I thoroughly enjoyed the lessons, and within my four weeks progressed to a point where I could not only function reasonably comfortably in basic situations (ordering in restaurants, shopping, navigating public transit), but could also hold conversations with friends. The instruction was geared to my level and needs, and featured "typical" language exercises (e.g. verb practice, vocabulary building) as well as creative multi-media elements (e.g. film and music clips) and lots of conversation. The city trips were fantastic. I got to visit neighbourhoods and events that I probably would not have been able to enjoy as a solo traveller. Highly recommended.

I just completed a month of classes with Learn Spanish in Mexico City. I can highly recommend them both for the quality of teaching and for their willingness to work with you to structure classes to your needs. Jorrit runs the school and is the person you're in contact with to set things up. He is extremely helpful and accommodating. After arriving, he kept in close contact to see how classes were going. I met with my instructor 3 times per week for a couple of hours and we had conversation classes – I had already taken quite a few grammar classes in the U.S. After an evaluation via Skype with my instructor, he felt that conversation classes were what I needed. I'm an architect so we visited interesting architectural sites and then talked about them. Carlos, my teacher, had studied architecture so he was very knowledgeable and even came up with some sites that I didn't know about. I was very pleased with Carlos' ability as a teacher and his flexibility with scheduling. This was a great experience, my Spanish improved measurably and I would do it again!

Wonderful. I contacted them with a bizarre request - only having one specific afternoon for classes and an interest in discussing some pretty specific vocabulary. Jorrit and the team were able to accommodate all of my needs with lots of flexibility, and gave me great support along the way. I worked with profesor Carlos who was excellent. Will definitely be back!

I did a 5-hr private instruction. I cannot say enough great things about my instructor Carlos. Everything he taught was catered to my own needs. Everything was done in Spanish but in an understandable way. I was very impressed with the care and the attention he gave me and cannot thank him enough. The administrator was really sweet, too. Everything was arranged smoothly. I highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Learn Spanish in Mexico City. Jorrit, the Director, has been very responsive in answering all my questions in a timely fashion and has helped me set up a program best suited for my needs. My teacher, Ernesto, has been fantastic. He is incredibly patient, keeps classes interesting and interactive with dialogue, videos and music, excursions in the city, and various assignments. Learning a language is not easy, but LSMC has definitely met (and exceeded) my expectations for a Spanish language school.

My wife and I have received 30-hours course respectively. She started at a beginner level and I took an intermediate one. And both of us are quite satisfied with the class. Jorrit, the coordinator, has been extremely attentive and helpful, and our instructor, Karen has proved her excellency in teaching. From our experiences, I would highly recommend this institute to who wants to learn Sapnish from the very beginning or, anyone wants to improve his/her Spanish language skill from intermediate level.

I just completed my two week intensive Spanish course, and have only positive things to say about my experience. Jorrit was extremely helpful and organized from the start, and the instructor, Carlos was fantastic in his customized approach of working with me to build structure to push my abilities to the next level. Thanks guys!

I was passed on the contact details of this school by a friend. Jorrit was brilliant organising the details of how my course would run and very supportive when sorting out my payment for the 30 hour course. I am now having lessons for an hour and a half two times a week and as a complete beginner the programme has been tailor made to l suit my needs. I can’t believe how quickly my Spanish is progressing from this tailored approach and I put this down to having a fantastic teacher, who has begun by teaching me phonics, syllables, spelling rules and stesses. I would highly recommend this programme and the materials have been supported by lots of additional information and photocopies!

My experience with Learn Spanish in Mexico City was great! The communication was perfect, the offer sufficient and my teacher Karime was incredible young woman full of nice approach to teaching as well as insights of Mexican cultures from the local point of view. I can only recommend! 🙂
